I was able to detect for about an hour before the sun went down this evening, and walked away with two neat finds. First, I pulled out of the ground a hefty Plaquemines Parish Oyster Association commemorative token from the early 80s. Later, after digging an assortment of folded pull tabs and bottle caps, I swung my coil over the last target of the evening, and it turned out to be a 1935 mercury dime! This is the first time I've ended a hunt with a "walk off" silver. Thanks for reading and happy hunting.

Nice finds Al. FWIW - I searched and searched and couldn't find that token - it is rare! Thanks for sharing...

Very well done sir.

I like the bivalve token. Good luck.

Nice finds, congratulations! :occasion14:

Looks like that Tracker 4 is working for you just fine. Sweet silver and a nice token I have never seen before. Thumbs up!

Nice!!! If it wasn't for "walk-offs"...some days I wouldn't score. 😂

Very Nice, I like it.

Both are very nice finds. I love the tokens and the silver is always nice too.

What do you mean by walk off?

Good job getting that Mercury and the token swing slow and youll get many more mercs they are easy to miss. Thanks for the great post!!!!!!

What do you mean by walk off?

It's baseball lingo referring to when the home team scores the winning run in the bottom of the 9th or in extra innings. I referred to it as a "walk off silver" because I had already decided before I dug the target that it would be my last one of the evening, and that target turned out to be silver. So, to me it would be like hitting a home run in the bottom of the 9th to win the game, if that makes any sense.

Nice save on the little known token and I do love Mercury Dimes.
Congratulations

Same here. It's my second favorite modern silver coin, and only trails the walking liberty half dollar.
