Hello and hope everyone is getting out swinging this weekend!
I had one of those kind of aggravating days, some bad luck, but a little good luck too. Had my route all planned and headed out early this morning to hit some parks first and then schoolyards. I went to four different parks and every one of them had pea gravel or just bare dirt in their play areas. Not worth it, moved on, not enough easy pillaging areas for me. Then, the first school district I hit, they had pea gravel too. Dang. Luckily, I had multiple back up plans and the second school district had woodchips.
All of these schools had fairly small play areas so I was able to go through each of them in a little over hour each. But my bad luck continued. While I was hunting the third school, my kid called and had a problem, so I had to pack it up and go home, oh well. Everything is fine by the way.
I didn't think I found that many coins, but when I cleaned them up, I was pleasantly surprized with the totals. The best surprise while cleaning them up was a discovered one of the dimes was a silver roosie, 1964 D.
At the first school, about five feet out from the slide, I got my first keeper of the day. A pretty large 925 mariner crusifix. It was only about 3/4" of an inch under the chips. After I found that, I slowly and carefully scanned the area around it and found a piece of the chain it was on. I continued to search and found the entire chain in five different pieces. It's hallmarked Sterling. I can't understand how it could get so chopped up like that, in so many pieces. Oh well, I'll take it, two keepers, I was happy. At the second school, I found a large gold tooth, a molar crown. It has some nice weight to it. Kind of gross, but hey it's Gold!! . My last keeper was a cool sterling beading link piece at the third school just before I left.
So the totals for the day were, all the nice gold and silver keepers, 175 coins for a face value of $13.28 in 3hours hunt time. Lots of zipper pulls again today Mastereagle , one pretty junque ring and a few other trinket pieces, not as much as normal I guess. I found one forien coin. It's a one Aehar 1993 Also got two play tokens, not Chuck E Cheese. I might go out again in the moring tomorrow, we'll see. head back over towards the richer side of town this time maybe.
With the three sterling jewelry pieces found today, that puts me at exactly 100 sterling silver jewelry pieces for the season. I am at 46 gold pieces this year so far.
Thanks for reading, HH to all.
