It has nothing on back is 4" tall and 3.5" wide. Who is it? Dates to where?
Seems to have white paint on it at bottom.
Thanks for looking!

It's a Catholic metal with the Virgin Mary pictured. Nice find, Breezie

It's hard to tell the age of these medals because they basically have not changed in years. Those that are made today are patterned like the ones made 75-100 yrs. ago. The more expensive ones are made of pewter and silver. Breezie

The double crown and the jewelry made me think of eastern Europe so I searched the internet.... Took me some time to find but I finaly did :-)

This is the "Black Madonna of Vilnius" or "Ostrobramskaya Madonna" of Lithuania depicted on your pendant. But I cannot give you any info on the medallion

I wonder why she is called the Black Madonna. Did she appear black?

As far as I know many old religious paintings and wooden statues aquire a dark patina over the years (mainly the ones inside churches, exposed to the smoke of candles and incense for aeons) and thus are called "black ...something".
For example the "black Madonna of Montserat" I found googling. I think this is the case with Ostrobramskaya Madonna, too.

I too wondered why a "Black" anything in that part of the world. The soot staining makes perfectly good sense thou.

Well the lady is not getting any blacker from now on. Looks like she's behind glass and those electric candles don't (usually) produce smoke :-)
