Anyone do any searches in the area find anything good I just moved in to a 160 year old one room school house gonna have fun on this property also have property in metamora that has old foundations and an old road that dates early 1900s and earlier also heard there might be Indian burial ground nearby I'm new into this so any tips would be appreciated

Welcome. The old school house should give up some keepers. Dig all the junk items and iron and you will discover better items that they are masking.
Indian burial grounds. " Off Limits " !!!!

I would use a Smaller Coil to get in between the collocated targets in that old school and go slowly, grid it..... and if i lived there.... i`d dig every target out of it, try to leave nothing. HH

Thanks yeah I'm excited for the ground to thaw I guess I could always go out with jugs of hot water lol got any tips on Where to start searching especially the old house I found the old well and a 150 plus year old oak tree I figure those are a good start

Rite now I'm using tracker 4 just cause it was free going to upgrade real soon but so far at school found 7 cents door handle and pre 30s Winchester 44 cartridge still don't know what best setting is but I'm still learning

Front door,Back door..... direct path to the well... a bucket of water is heavy...so shortest way ...they must have had an outhouse there look for depressions in the ground ...or i find a lot of outhouses have Lie-lock bushes around them...the bushes cover the smell... smells better.

Good points plus the driveway used to be a road don't know if that's worth walking have about 2000 feet of it found a bunch of old bottles along the side that's about it guess it's worth a shot with a detector

Welcome and good luck on your property searches. Should be fun. :icon_thumleft:

Welcome to T-Net and good luck! Let me know if you need some help :laughing7:

Murry 656 - my being new to the sport (as well in Michigan), have seen post's calling out the shade tree areas, driveways and being an old school may show signs of where a swing set might have been - that too would be a good area I believe!

Bring on spring - I have an old mill site and a couple three old home sites that I have permission to search, love silver coins - not for value as much as to have and look at - good luck!

My problem is I can't find any pics of the school the way it was back then and where I think the swing set was is now a septic field I'm getting to anxious bout to break out torches on the ground thaw it out and make spring come early lol

Welcome to the forum and good luck hunting your fantastic property

Sounds as if you have a very nice property and alot of ground to cover and I am sure you will have fun and stay clear of the indian burial grounds. :icon_thumright:
