Hello

Just got interested in treasure hunting and joined this forum to research equipment and methods for freshwater hunting. I went to college at Oklahoma State and I work as a Science teacher and coach, I also have a hurricane chasing tree surgery business. I have been open water certified for 6 years now and I have logged over 70 dives in freshwater lakes, ponds, and rivers. I have been looking for a hobby that is unique, I can honestly say i don't know a single person who hunts under freshwater in Oklahoma. My current hobbies include fishing, cave exploration, bow hunting, body building and soap making. I have included a picture of myself with the wife in Padre last summer. I would be glad to show a fellow diver around some of our lakes here in Oklahoma if someone needs a dive buddy or guide.

Welcome to the forum! You're a nice looking couple.

Hurricane chasing tree surgery business? Splain it to me like I'm 6 ;D

I'd love going fresh water, salt water, any water hunting, ‘cept the waters around where I live (natural quicksand here,
muck, mud and weird black substance)

"Logged over 70 dives in freshwater lakes, ponds, and rivers."

I'm impressed and jealous!

Thanks Alchemy

"Hurricane chasing tree surgery business? Splain it to me like I'm 6".  Our company is called Arborpro Tree and Stump, I learned the trade from an Arborist so that is where the surgery part comes in.  After a storm we go in and do all things related to trees, mostly removing them from the property after they are torn apart.  During hurricane Rita and Katrina we removed enough debris from private property to fill a 60 foot semi trailer 300 times.  The pay is excellent but there is not enough work to sustain a company year round so I just go when nature calls.  If you are interested I could post a short video of some of the cleanup jobs my company contracted.

Don't be too jealous of my dives, most of them were in water so murky you could not see your fins. On top of that the water is wicked cold past the second thermal cline, so going deep without a dry suit is out of the question. I here the sea calling, so we are trying to move to Oahu next year to answer the call. Im ready for the 120 foot visibility and hand caught seafood, big surf and beautiful weather.

Welcome aboard, Pete. What a great looking pair you and your wife are.

You sure have a wide range of hobbies......cave exploration.....and......soap making? I guess you would need soap after getting dirty in your other hobbies. ;)

What is the best way to get the wife involved in my new interest, without buying two machines? If she likes hunting we will buy another machine but we are going to start with one.
