Hi All,
Hunted a bit by the shore, and at the Shoemakers site.
Got the platter and heavy oval picture frame out of the mud.
I'm guessing the platter dates fairly early by its simple decoration.
first quarter 19th Century :help:
Also my first 'Junk' ring. (at least it's copper!)
A fancy little pin, nit comb (mousache comb?, 'Salmon Falls' is a very local & common name ), and a few whatsits from the shoemaker.
I thought tick season was over! They swarmed me out there :D
HH

Nice digs H 8) and the ticks are the worse I have ever experienced here in Jersey 8) I have been burning them up with a torch :angry5:

Found some similar shaped frames in my collections,
the pic of the Native Brave is paper, colorized, and marked on back 299 :icon_scratch:
Anyone familiar with this style of photograph?
Maybe 1899?
Also wondering about the item on right in 2nd photo, it has a swinging holder mechanism on right side :dontknow:
Thanks for looking! HH

Very cool platter. :icon_thumleft: How big is it? Is this something they threw away? I'd polish that baby up and use it. Neat finds!

You can have the ticks. :P

Hello,
Platter is about 12" X 7", lost off boat or dock I believe....
Thanks for looking

Very nice platter !
In U.S.A have a serious problem with ticks, it appears that plagues too serious, here there is less and only stick to some animals ... but not quite.

More nice diggs Herbie. I laughed when I saw the hem weight. I found tons of those the first year of detecting but haven't found one of them in the last 2 years :icon_scratch:. I like the serving dish as well. Keep digging!

Sir Digs, the handle was a figure 8 when recovered, some heat and careful bending straightened it pretty well :laughing7:
