If you remember back before the snow started flying and the ground started to freeze I went up north near the Canadian border for some beach detecting after the summer crowds left. I had never detected the camping sites so I figured I give it a try. I mounted my Eclipse DD (6x10) coil to my MXT and headed north for unknown treasures. As figured, ton's of pull tabs, beer caps and such littered the area, but I did manage to find $1.59 in change, one State Park token (new) and nine (9) Canadian pennies from 1960, 1965, 1973, 1976, 1979, 1984, 1990, 1991 and 2007. Sorry to say I put scratches in 65 and 79 while digging. Ground was hard and dry as we have been lacking rain for quite sometime now. I did manage to discover that one area was filled in after a flood back in 1972; where an old park store stood and where the bleachers where when the area was a race tract. We are now receiving much needed rain and my sites are set on returning to the area where the bleachers once stood with hopes of silver.
Thanks for looking.

Tabs are the Devil I tell ya!

That's a bunch of digging.
Hope the filled-in area pans out for you with silver and gold!
Keep a hunting!!

I know campgrounds and picnic grounds are it seems always full of trash, but I think where there is trash-there is treasure! Somehow the two seem to go together but camprounds and swimming areas I think can treat ya good! Good luck on more finds...I enjoyed seeing the post 49er! Buy the sound of that name you are a gold hunter! May you find a Huge piece of gold soon! ;D
