Lake Superior agate season has begun and I finally got around to taking some pics of some of my finds and I thought I would share.

Found near the road by my house, this next one was somewhat covered in road tar and sand. I noticed rather accidentally that warm mineral oil was the perfect thing to loosen up the tar while giving the agate my usual mineral oil treatment. I was able to clean it up quite a bit that way.

Here is my happiest agate of 2015 so far. :)

A piece of banded flint just to mix things up bit.

Happy hunting!

I have heard of these before, but didn't realize the size... What do you do with them? Tumble? Very nice looking stuff...

PaDirtDigger,
Some I tumble and some I cut/grind/polish but most I leave as-is. When they look really nice naturally I have a hard time changing them. :)

lol@BurntBear, agates are delicious! Better go find more before the nothing comes. ;)
