Found this in a lake in Michigan. It was staring up at me in about 3 feet of water. It looks to be hand carved out of possibly very dense sand stone? Any ideas what it could be? Definitely looks like a skull. The face is 3 3/4 inches tall.

Interesting find for sure. If you stare at that just right, the eye sockets look like protruding nubs, instead of hollows.

Looks more like bone than stone. Could be an early tool, possibly for making fire.
