I don't think I am giving this my A-game google wise or it may be I'm just stumped :D but hoping that maybe someone is familiar with this organization off hand. Pin is about the size of a dime. Back is marked "Bastian Bros. Co. Roch., NY"

Thanks!

Re: KOSP Pin

However, I have found a reference to a "Knights of St. Patrick" club. That is my best lead so far. Just found it, so maybe another dead end.

Well I guess you already know it isn't a radio station. ;D

;D What an interesting train of thought you have going on there. I'm in the lands of the "W" call letters.

It's just that I would expect the pin to be green and clover shape looking, but you never know. If you can make a local connection then I guess it remains an option.

Agreed - it only has the little flower in the upper left. 5 petals - not shamrocky at all.

Maybe the P is for Petunia :laughing7:

The place I found it at was a parsonage of the Methodist church from about 1900-1950 so it did get a lot of traffic which was sometimes a bit more unique than you would get in a regular house. I'm going to keep trying to think locally though.

The Knights of Saint Paul

A society of young men organized January 15, 1934. To date it has a membership of one hundred twenty-eight persons and has been affiliated with the Prima Primaria Sodality of Rome, and thus shares in the vast privileges, spiritual and temporal, of the parent body. The group is under the jurisdiction of the pastor, Father Marino, and is directed by Father McManaman.

Saint Paul crossed my mind too but I was near Googled out. Given the design of the pin I think that's the best guess so far.

That does sound good - thanks! ;D I will see what I can do with the info.

Does it sound like this organization was only based in this Erie Co., PA Catholic church? Doesn't count it out but I am in the Albany area of NY which is across the state.

I wonder if the dots after the "K" and after the "P" have any significance. Looks a little off balance.

Looking at the picture the "K" and "P" appear bolder too. It's not as apparent in person.

Yes, almost seems to imply it's K OSP

I'm honored :D

Here's another thought and leading me into a cul de sac. The K and the P are to be taken together and the O and the S together. Like "Kappa Pi" "Ohio State" - or something. I just made that up.

Or just as easy..... K. OS P. (The OS being a smaller part of the larger K.P. organization)

I see dots after all the letters and evenly spaced as well. Just paint loss in the dots after the O & the S. Or am I seeing things ?

Could be, but being incised it would be odd to be gone just in those two spots, and completely gone. I do see what you mean but the light spot after the O doesn't look very round.
