The ground's pretty frozen up here now , so I went scoping out an old out house the other day . I spotted a metal thing down in the dark hole with my flashlight , I fished out this nice cast iron toilet paper dispenser . There is place on the wall where you can see where it use to be fastened .
It's marked '' U C & P Co. Boston , Mass '' No pun intended !

Also a patent date of 1877 , 1883

Nice find- thats pretty cool. I had no idea a design like that even existed! HH

I had no idea they had rolled TP back then. This privey must have been from a well to do family. When I was a little kid staying with my grandparents in the summer they would go around visiting old freinds that didn't have indoor plumping. When I had to use the out house all they ever had for paper was an old Sears and Robuck or Monkey Wards catalog or if I was lucky they had some old newspaper. That is a very rare great find.

That is really cool. I hope modern rolls fit on it. I like how it has the cutting edge on it, from before the days of perforated rolls. Great find! -Ben

That is one of the neatest finds I've seen on here.? I didn't realize that they had TP back then.

That is a great find, and very presentable to be used in your own toilet. I go back and look further....

Regards
Peter
