Knocker?

I found this a few years ago scouting an old building tear down. It's approximately 5 in. X 4 in., heavy for it's size. Brass, I believe. It was lying in a "reduced" rubble driveway, and appears to have been run over multiple times, by heavy trucks.

I think it was more of a decorative piece not a knocker. Cool find, it looks brass to me as well.
