Went to a garage sale. (We call them yard sells in SC) it had a price tag of $80 . Talked her down to $55. This Viola retails about $500 in used condition. It looks brand new!

Outstanding ChuckSC!

Good deal. Musical instruments are one of my weak points. Although I did find an Otto Link "Tone Master" sax mouthpiece once that sold for over $400.

Yard sales are a good place to find musical instruments cheap. And they are a good turn around when you sell 'em

Wow! Just the mouth piece?
yup

They are usually too high priced or just low priced student models around here for the most part.

Have any suggestions or words of wisdom on what to and what not to buy? I know ... Research ... 😉

Very nice. The only instruments I see around here are beat to death high school band stuff.

Look for the condition of them. Ask about the origin of them, I E where did they get it and if it was a school instrument.also if they are selling it a garage sell they will probably come down on the original price. If they say " It was my great uncle Bobs and it is just collecting dust" snatch it up!
