I found this cross digging at a construction site under an old road that was dug out. It’s brass or copper and very ornate, there are no markings on it I can see. It was found in an area where there are many colonial homes dating to the early 1700’s. Any idea how old it is? Could it be a significant find? Pretty cross. Looks like cast brass and could 18th or 19th century. Similar ones are still being made but not of the same materials and yours has some age on it.

Congratualtions on the interesting piece! :occasion14:

Thanks guys! Its pieces like this that keep me digging. You just never know[emoji106]

Looks like stamped brass after looking at the detail and thickness. Likely mid-19th century.
