I found this knife in an area that was used as a junk pile about fifty years or so ago. I find a lot of wire and quite a few old (beer?) cans that predate pull tabs in this area so I was surprised to dig up this knife. Any ideas on what kind of knife this, its age, and if it has any value?
 

Probably a Mexican souvenir bowie knife from the 30's to 50's

I think you've got it. The date fits and the handles are similar. The only difference is mine lacks the notch at the base of the blade. Thanks for the ID.

look real hard for markings on the blade...i have one too

The blade is too rusty to see if there were any markings. There is a small indentation that could be a v or a w or just the blade got dented there. If this helps any, I'm pretty sure the handle is a deer head.
