Looks like a thickness guage. What's a nife? Same thing as a knife? Monty

I know I had seen this before, and now I remember. The brass part is a early 1800's powder measure. The swivel piece I think is just something that is trapped in the crushed brass tube.

I believe the swivel piece belongs with the brass pieces. The holes are the same diameter, so it seems like it would fit. :icon_scratch:
