Picked up these coins at a flea market in Virginia a few years ago. Paid a dollar each. Previous owner told me they were a token of sorts handed to attendees of rallies. Anybody have any knowledge about them or idea of value? Yes I know some people won't like seeing coins like these, but I think they are part of our history. Period. 20150824_002309.jpg

Welcome to TreasureNet ravcan !!!

Honestly, My opinion "Fantasy Pieces"

My reason .
To my Limited Knowledge of the Klan......
I do Not Believe the Skull & Crossbones are connected to the Real KKK.

It suggests they are Pirates
(or worse ) when in Reality They are a Pure Christian Organization.
and would not pass a Skull & Crossbones to anyone unless perhaps as a Direct threat
100 years ago :tongue3: :dontknow: & definitely Doubtful to attendees of rallies.

& since all 4 appear to have been made by the Same Maker,
My opinion goes for all.

Sorry !
I hope I'm wrong !

though $1.00 each isn't a real Loss

Interesting !
I would have not expected that.
except as I said. A Direct death threat to a particular person

I bought these from an older gentleman in a wheelchair. He was selling things that were his father's he said. In addition to the tokens, he had many photographs of people standing around wearing robes and stuff. Obvious gatherings. Claimed the stuff was his father's that he had accumulated over the years as a member. He didn't claim these to be worth any money, so I don't think he was trying to pass them off as valuable. He had close to twenty of them. I just bought five. Thought they were different. I had never seen or heard of such a thing before this. I have heard that the little symbols had to do with what the really was about in general. Different symbols for different occasions. That's about all I know. As far as fantasy or fake pieces, that would make sense if someone was trying to make some money on them. I can't see hammering on these and stamping them only to make a few bucks. Who knows tho. I haven't seen anything like these before. I'm sure if they are real there would be more out there.

Here is a petroglyph we recorded that uses the KKK skull and crossbones. It's in upstate SC and dates from 1927. I clipped the third K on purpose. Occasionally it comes up on my work PC screensaver, no drama that way. There were more of these type carvings at the location. There are so many fakes of this sort out there it is hard to tell. These coins look pretty convincing though.....

Doing a Google images search I found similar examples. That dosn't mean they aren't reproductions though. My gut feeling is that they are and I'm fairly sure I've seen this kind of thing at the local flea market from time to time.

Yea I've seen KKK 666 420 & Skull & Crossbones all used in the same spot already,
and obviously by Teenagers :tongue3:

that one looks a bit more believable though.
not just paint can art

the new york one looks like a counterstamp on a Canadian coin
(Quarter .. Silver or Clad ?)

I think I see the Word ELIZABETH on the right

U.jpg
the Virgina may be a Token Counterstamp also

Un.jpgUntitled.jpg

Which adds value to both. Fake or not.

one on a Chuck-E-Cheeze would be cool

Wow! Who would have thought that this kind of thing was done during the old civil rights movements. It turns out very interesting. But in our modern world they do not do this, but the younger generation of our students is still doing the right thing to defend their rights. Regardless of anything, this is really important today.

Yes sir I understand, I tried to qualify by stating “ all politicians are snakes”, no matter the party.

Yes you did, I knew that you weren't trying to intentionally make it political, but it is still political and it opens up for rebuttals from both sides which causes more issues.
