Nice insitu's. Those are good creek finds. :headbang:

Exciting finds---bowl looks like it might have been used as a mortar. :icon_thumleft:

I think your point looks like a Bradley Spike, it just don't have the center ridge, or it could be a Elk River but it don't have oblique flaking, Scotts Bluffs have a flare at the base:dontknow:Your bowl I think is a broken natural geo. Cool finds:icon_thumleft:

Thanks guys and rack I will check that point out ;) on the edges of the bowl or geo it has percussion marks not like the pitted ones on the inside I guess that could of been from the mining process to remove the flint interior ? Zoom in on the edge and see what you think thanks for your time :)

Wonderful finds, I especially love the point(4th pic)! Kat :)

Wowzers!! That black point is flat nasty bro! I need to work on my aqua eye! I have an insitue pic for ya!

I vote Scottsbluff IMO. except for color I have its twin DSC09858.webp DSC09859.webp it was a creek find but in southern IL. Hope you don't mind my post painter just thought it was amazing at the similarities between the two. AWESOME FIND SIR :icon_thumright:
The bowl thing looks like a broken geode. you can see formation starting inside

ThanksNC anytime y'all are always welcome posting pics here those are nice points ...haha paint dish I like it !!!

Is there any basal grinding on that point?

The other piece looks like a geofact imho. Years ago, there was a guy selling lots of rocks very similar to that one on e-bay for quite a while. He got in some trouble for selling them as artifacts.

Lol I bet he did get in trouble I find lots of them geofacts but this one has been chipped on the edges I believe that it is just one of those that can go either way so I will put it in my geofact pile haha I'm not next to that point but I will look closer at the basal end ;)

Nice hunt with great returns! The point looks like woodland with the flaking on it but is a good looking one. The bowl seeing it is broken will be a hard call as to what it looked like before it broke. They did have stone bowls and did use what was found at times and then altered them to their needs. Im not sure on it seeing I have only found pieces of them. You got some great pics and finds, rock

Thanks as always rock and Quito it has very light basal grinding .... Yes the NA utilized those cortex leftovers from mining a nodule they didn't waste much but I also think being I found it in the creek makes it impossible to 100 percent identify it as a fact . I do know by the marks on this one they did have there hands on it when it was broke open for the material inside . And well if I were a NA and used dishes like mortars /paint dishes I would take advantage of the stone bowl shape ;)

I would of carried it home, no doubt about that.
