Just tell me if you get tired of these clad posts guys...OK?? Took off work an hour early today and hunted for 3 hours this evening.? Went to a strange "walk in" park, surrounded by housing tracts.? You had to park in lot and walk in about 3/8 of a mile to get there.? Tennis courts, basketball courts, triple playground, BBQ pavillions, horse shoe pits, and soccer fields.? I personally wouldn't want to carry an ice chest that far but what the hell, I'll hunt it!? Focused on the edges of the sidewalk and did pretty well.? Got one of those variable signals that most of you MXT users probably know...25, .50 & $1.00 usually ends up being copper irrigation pipe.? This time though it ended up being 12 quarters tied off in a cellophane bag.? Sets a new personal record for face value from one hole.? The most interesting find to me though was in the middle of a soccer field @ 4 inches.? I thought it was a piece of decorative hardware from a piece of furniture and just tossed it in the bag.? Later I realized it was a copper brooch, long since parted with whatever stones adorned it and the plating.? Also picked up 2 junk rings, a brass button, a track cleat, a dog collar spike, some sort of heart pin and $8.51 in clad.? BTW, the newest quarter in the cache was a 2001 Texas (Correction by MDnoob...New York).? Been doing so well with this drift hunting I've been doing, I'm afraid I'm gonna hit the wall and have a bad slump.? Good luck everyone!? ;D CO2

Nice digs as usual, CO2. :) ?

It always amazes me when my detector picks up something as small as a track spike or a 22 shell. ?I think it means you're doing something right.

Wow you are a hard worker! baggie looks like homemade soccer mom's blackjack. They were used to knock out bad referees at soccer games

If you really found a 2001 Texas, it may be worth a good deal more than you think!

Funny how a post reply can make you jump and run to look at your days find isn't it?? I stand corrected MDnoob...It's a New York quarter...Shucks! Thanks for the sharp eye~CO2

Good job as usual CO2. I had a similar day yesterday. $3.40 in clad. Tried some new settinigs & concepts from Jeff Fosters book, Digging Deeper With The DFX. It was way cool. Only dug three pull tabs. Everything else was coins. I only had an hour & a half to play so I look forward to really hitting it again. Have to go assist at a marriage retreat for distressed coulpes this weekend. NO I don't get to take the DFX with me, dang it. It's at a old established resort in Wallowa Lake, OR. I wish I could detect there, maybe another time. WTG on that park. Spotz

Nice goin', a bag of quarters is a good thing to find in a hole in the ground.
Hey Always...Guess I wasn't to clear on this but the quarters were buried assumably by a kid. Near the BBQ pavillion at about 3". Wish that happened more often. Drove my days average up quick! ;D

Bring on the clad, I love looking at anything and everything people are finding. Almost lets me imagine I'm out hunting myself instead of sitting at work with nothing else to do at lunch.

What a great haul! Man, those junk rings get your heart pumping, don't they! I get a cardiac workout every time I find one! HH omnicognic 8)

Very nice finds. If not for the clad posts this site would not be anywhere near the size it is now. Keep em coming! HH
