Yep, great story. I wonder if the state of Florida takes the kids find. Someone will put a price tag on it..and the 'officials' will come out of the swamps like fiddler crabs looking for the kid.

You'll never know. It's old news already and not worthy of a follow-up. Maybe this kid will learn about the government too(the hard way). I heard it was a Newnan point. These are sought after, especially coral.

kids finds a broken point in a state park and they do a story on it, we dig them up and are called looters, go figure. He broke the law period. I do hope the kid takes an interest in rescuing artifacts.

I am shocked the state didn't take it away. There is a law of finds in FL. If its over 50 years old, the state will take it.

thats only on the rivers and state waters, which is just about all of it. We can still legally dig on private land with permission, state land is another story
