I got iced in today so I decided to sort a coffee can of odds and ends that I keep next to the washing machine for when I empty my pockets, it was 99% junk but then there was this

I couldn't believe I missed it before and the thing that really gets me is there is a gun out there and I have no idea where. Ive got a 1200 acres of area to cover if im going to find the rest of it. on the other hand ive got a good reason to get back out there

Yep Todd’s point got it, the groove on the bottom was where the ramrod went meaning it was a muzzle loader meaning it’s likely 200 years old

.... mmmm wait I think some of the early packaged rounds were still stuffed down the barrel I’ll go likely pre 1870’s ish

Cool find good you noticed it hope you find the rest of the gun.It will at least make hunting there a little more fun

It's in good shape too. And like Tommy said....if the rest of it's there, wow!

Nice find and you have 1200 acres to hunt for more keepers! :occasion14:
