I don't have anything else to do and this is the only thing I have found recently so I thought I would take up some space here with this key. On one side it reads General Motors Corp around the edge, GM in a block and the number 890 with either another 0 a 6 or an 8 in the area below the hole. The other side reads Briggs Stratton Corp around the edge, D-R in a block, made in USA above that and something I can't read in the area below the hole. What I thought was a notch on top of the key is just damage. It is the same size and shape as the trunk key to my 67 GTO. Anybody here know how old and what it went to?

Early GM key 30's/50's. Briggs made key blanks for a lot brands.

I believe that is a Briggs & Stratton key blank #B11, which was used for General Motors trunks (and glove box).
The #B10 would be it's mate, for the ignition.

In use from 1935 to 1966.
