Dug this yesterday in a Baltimore City park. A friend sent me a pic of an actual kepi insignia that looks like the one I dug. Would you id this as Civil War era?

That's an awesome relic I have seen it on here before dont remember what it was from division wise.

Yes either Civil War or Indian Wars period. I'm not sure how to tell the difference. Nice find.

Thanks Tommy. Union was here for sure. Probably camped here during Baltimore riots. New York Excelsior buttons have been found and at least one other crossed cannons insignia.

I dug several in an artillery camp years ago, sure look Civil War to me.

Thanks BLK HOLE! Yes and no. One of the Hoovers comes regularly to our Club meetings. Haven't seen the rest of the gang for quite awhile.
