Kentucky stone

Found this in my yard in Kentucky after a rain storm washing out of the ground. It is not metal shot and feels like stone. It is nearly perfectly round like a marble with a few imperfections. What do you think it is?

Looks to be an old clay marble. They can easily have imperfections so they won't usually be perfectly round.

Would it be white if clay though? Clay pottery around here is usually reddish brown. Even the chipped areas are whitish.

Yep, they can be a variety of colors.
