My first "real" detector was a White's MXT, still have it! A little later I picked up a used Surf PI Pro as I was a beach guy.

My condolences to the Whites family.
What a great man that inspired generations of treasure hunters.

Our first family detector was a GoldMaster pre-discrimination. (1968)
Just had metal/mineral
14AA Batteries.
Then after that every make and model for the next 25 yrs.
Met Mr White in the early 80's.
Drove down to Sweethome to have a repair done.
They did it and more and didn't even charge me.

I agree with all said above. While my dad didn't have a White's detector in the 60's - it was the one he strived to own. Thank you to Kenny and his family for everything.
