After the ring return yesterday I went to a local sports complex and did some detecting around the sides of some soccer fields with the CZ21, including the field my grandson played on several times this season. I have done these areas before, but I was hoping for some new losses and I got lucky. About a half hour into the hunt I was on the spectator side and got a high tone signal and found a nice silver ring. About a half hour later on the team side I dug an interesting mid tone and found a nice medium weight silver chain. I haven’t found one of these in several years so it was a nice surprise. It is a Silverite chain from Italy and weighs .50 Troy ounces or 15.5 grams. At the end of my 3.5 hours I got another high tone and popped out a coin ring attached to a stainless steel chain.
The coin ring is made from a 1976 bicentennial Kennedy half dollar. My first coin ring and a bucket lister for me. Granted I was hoping for a silver coin ring, but I’ll take it.
So 3 really nice finds, the best hunt I have had since the water hunting has ended. So if you believe in karma, this is my reward for finding and returning the queens ring.
All total I found 62 coins with a face value of $4.56, the silver chain, the stainless chain with a coin ring attached, a ball inflation needle, a screw in cleat, the ring, and of course, tabs, can slaw and foil.
Another good hunt in the books and I’m a happy camper. Thanks for looking and may your coil lead you to good things.
