Hope I just sound dumb and not rude, what is that cool looking thing, without me searching your title, Indian artifact?

THATS A FINE PEICE OF INDIAN HISTORY , MAN ITS A BEAUTY AND WELCOME NEW MEMBER, AND WHAT A GREAT FIND ...

Wow that's huge, don't know much about ancient stone tools, but I bet that's something a museum would love to have - thus you are very lucky to have found it. Maybe even a banner worthy find!

Every picture tells a story, but, some pictures demand a detailed story! Please tell us more. I would surely soil myself if I found that. Congratz

Jerry Dickey C.O.A Mississippian spade or could be a large biface earlier than mississipipian kaolin chert

the Ross Blade is not mine But my Spade/Biface is made from the same high grade Kaolin from southern illinois union county.

Looks like a hoe, a nice one at that.....

Nice artifact, OP.

That sure was a big piece of Kaolin they used to knock that one out.... Wow... Heck of a piece to have in any collection...
I was out in that area once, got permission for a field and a creek, found a few chucks, about 5,000 flakes in the field and also one small nodule of cobden, no artifacts, depending on how technical one might be. Cuz flakes are really artifacts too, but anyway...
Awesome piece, thanks for sharing...
