Very cool. When I lived there I used to swim by the Zion nuke plant. I never could get anyone to go with me. They thought I'd glow in the dark.
Anyway all I saw were very worn round rocks, like river rocks that had tumbled for ever. At the time I was more into plants so didn't look that hard. Good to know you found some really interesting stuff.
If I'm ever back there I'll keep my eyes open.

Awesome! What are the last 2 pics? Is it the same rock different views? It looks very interesting. Just curious what it might be.

As for the fossils do you know what any of them are? That top one in the second pic is very cool.

Hi there! Sorry I am so late in responding, as I have just returned from vacation. (:

The last 2 pictures are 2 different rocks. They are both close to the size of my fist. When I found the hunk of quartz in the very last picture, only a small portion (about the size of a dime) was sticking up above the surface of the shore. The second rock I found out in the water, stepped on it actually (haha).

The top fossil in the second picture I believe is a chain coral, there are 3 chain coral fossils in the picture. The round disk with the star-shaped center is a crinoid and the long bolt-looking fossil is also a crinoid. These were all found on the shore same day. Some of my best finds at the beach I frequent.
