Hello everyone.Iam retired and have time on my hands.So i walk my dogs ride my bicycles.And now iam going to get into something i have wanted to do for a long time.Metal detecting.I tell people don't laugh but my present detectors are a cen-tec pinpointer and 9 function model from harbor freight all i could afford at the moment.Iam saving for something a little more expensive.But you have to start somewhere.I have only had them for a few days and will go out tomorrow to tinker around.I have been looking at youtube vids and going to forums i have a lot to learn..I have no illusion that i will find the million dollar buried treasure chest.But it will be fun.And who knows what i will find.I will probably jump for joy when i find my first coin..So let me stop babling and start lreading and learning from you guys and ladies..

I had a moment this mourning so i went on the side of my house just to find that first item.Turned on the 9 function model.It went off and about a half inch down found my first penny.A 2011 penny.I will be going out to my neighbors property tomorrow.Thats 5 acres in the woods.Iam sure i will find a few things.Just wanted to find something this mourning to say it works..

I didn't have the time to go to my friends property today.But after i finished stuff i had to do i had about 30 minutes of daylight so i grabbed my stuff to go out to the woods about 3 miles from me just had to have my first dig.This is the stuff i found each item was buried about 6 inches.So it made my day just to get a chance to see what i could find..I can say this is realy going to be fun when i have time and when i go to the beach..

I hope this pic came out ok.I will try to explain this as quikly as possible.Last night a guy that deals in antiques and bids on storage lots called me and said he had a trailer full of stuff about 90 miles away and would pay me to tow the uhaul trailer back to his warehouse.He paid for my gas and gave me 250 dollars.So thats extra money for me.We saw a guy at the storage place where i picked up the trailer selling some of his stuff.And i saw this garrett ace 250 so he said make me an offer.Didn't know the price so i said 95 dollars he took it.It had not been a week since i started hunting.It has everything in the box the instruction manual and dvd's also head phones.Did i do good or not?

You got a heck of a deal. That's a $200-$250 metal detector. Awesome find. Happy Hunting. Oh by the way I'm using the same detector you are from harbor freight. It does the job. Hoping someday I can get something better.

I do intend to continue using my detector from harbor freight.Its my first one i intend to keep it for as long as i am around..And i have found nothing spectaculor yet but it works great..

It's my first detector also. Got it 2 yrs ago. And I have had some really awesome finds with it. I found a1923 standing liberty quarter that was about 10 in down. I love mine but would love to have one like you got such a steal on. I'm gonna post pics of all my finds tmrw.
