It's an English sporting shotgun. H & J W King. I think 1860s to 1880s maybe
 

Love it. Is it a shooter? I know you aren't supposed to shoot Damascus barrels, but if they aren't Damascus,
then I'd think that reasonable black powder loads would work. There are going to be people get on this thread
that will warn you about how dangerous it is to shoot it. I have antique guns that date to 1780's and 1800's and I
have shot every one of them, and I'm typing with all my fingers.
 

I forgot to add, your gun is a muzzle loader, that should date it before the 1880's, or darn close to it anyhow.

I suppose you could fire it with a very light load. This thing ended up in a small town auction in South Carolina near me and I couldn't stay so I left a bid with a guy I know never thinking that I would actually get it. Lol
 

That's a nice looking rifle. How deep was it? Just kidding it is beautiful.
