I know I got a great deal here, I just bought a 1931-D Mercury Dime for $1.56 total, out the door. It looks like it's in really good shape but I have very little experience collecting Merc's. Any opinions on grade are appreciated. I'll try to find a similar coin on ebay for a value comparison. Overall today was a very good day for me.

Thanks.

That is a semi-key date! I wish I could pay melt for something like that. I grade it as an EF, with a book value of about $30. Not a bad deal.

I agree and hope the Seller was good looking and you gave them a big kiss after picking up that steal! By the way, does the Seller have any 1916-D Mercury Dimes for $2.56? If so, I will buy all that they have for that price!:tongue3:

Even if you move the decimal point to the right a couple of places!

I picked up another '31-D today, this time only paid $1.35 for it. To be fair it's more in the ~VF range so not as nice as the one above but I still feel pretty good about buy.

Who'd you buy them from? It wasnt your friend was it? Or a helpless old grandma for that matter? ;)

Bought it from the LCS. I have a very sweet set-up and have had the opportunity to buy some very nice coins at very reasonable prices. In return I'm a loyal customer and do a lot of business there. As far as the little old lady scenario, I even asked the LCS guy "hey, you know there's a '31-D in here?" "Take it" "OK".
