Metal Detecting
I must have dug close to one dozen Barclay metal soldiers in many years of metal detecting. Just once I'd like to dig one that's not broken! The one I recovered today is missing
the helmet and feet. I collect these guys so I have a picture of one from my collection that's an example of one in pristine condition, not one that's been dug.

Someday I'll dig one that's complete!

Also dug up a silver quarter, silver dime, various tokens, and 7 wheat pennies.

He's not broken, he's wounded. Probably a land mine. Get him to the MASH unit.

Great finds! The Lords prayer penny is pretty cool!

As you say on the last picture “You have to dig the trash!”and you are so right. I have run into people detecting who say they only dig the “good” stuff and I go along behind them and find goodies that didn’t sound great, but goodies none the less.

Keep swingin.

I would count that as a good day CHF. "Wounded" or not, that soldier is a nice find.

what a productive day! I really commend you (and others) that take the time to edit photos to make it much more interesting to view. I haven't dug a silver in 2 years (wtf!). I think my AT Pro just hates me... I'm always jelly when I see people pulling them up like it aint no thanggg. Maybe you'll find that poor soldier's leg soon!!! Keep swingin, friend.

Congrats. Those Barclays are so awesome to find. I have been lucky enough to find one that is in terrible shape (looks like it was dropped into acid or something!) but complete. Good for you! I think they are pretty cool even when they are incomplete. Kind of remind me of little Greek statues! I can't wait to find some more! At lease you had a good deal of paint left on yours.

That's funny you'll get one I feel like that with spoons and forks thimbles ect mot a silver one yet soon though nice hunt

Looks like a really fun hunt! Congrats:icon_thumleft:
