I'm doing research at home to hopefully put me on a good start, does anyone know of any prospecting groups that meet up around western N.C. or other ways I can get access to a location?

I am in WNC, in Yancey county. There are some groups here, but I don't know how much they meet up. As far as getting a location. Do what I do. Drive around or you your local GIS, and then knock on a door.
