Hello! I've just signed up. I live in Tacoma Washington and am interested in using metal detectors on land and underwater. I actively scuba dive in Puget Sound and have been finding lots of different kinds of bottles and have really enjoyed doing that. I've been reading a lot about using metal detectors, both on land and scuba diving. I don't have one yet, but am looking for one that I could use for both as they are pretty expensive and I only want to invest in one, if at all possible. Once I find one I'm sure I'll be back on asking questions and looking for help.

Hello and welcome from Ohio. Most detectors are designed to use for either water or land not both. I am not saying that one designed for water can't be used on land. Just that it won't work on land as good as detectors designed for land hunting.

Welcome aboard! Take a look at Sub-Forums: Washington for information (i.e., clubs, etc.) directly related to your state.

Hello and welcome to the forum!

You came to the right place. These guys and Gals are good with any question you have. Welcome from N. Mississippi. Gold miners.webp

Hi TCarlson06,

The best detector for Scuba and beach hunting is the Minelab Excalibur II- It's not the best for land hunting, but will work. Most land hunters prefer a detector with a target ID screen. Feel free to give me a call to discuss detectors.
