Just having the honor to swing at Camp Moore was great.

Went to another fort permission thanks to possum. We actually got to Metal Detect on the property right across from camp more where 6000 troops are being trained unfortunately we didn’t come out with much since the grass was so high and wet and was very hard to swing, but I did not manage to unearth a marble. I got a marble from Camp Moore!!! IMG_0012.JPGIMG_0012.JPG

Then we decided to go to old Jewish German abandon cemetery from the late 1800s when most of them died. I went on the outskirts and I found a gold plated brass ring. It’s not much to brag about, but you know how things go. IMG_0012.JPGIMG_0012.JPG

Yeah Truth, I know how it goes, "First your money and then your clothes!" LOL

I worked for a German company in the early 80s. We'd been teaching them how to drink Budweiser and they were going home for Christmas. One of them mentioned something about buying his child some marbles, so I asked them what kind they had in Germany at that time. Heck! They still had aggies, and they were cheap! I couldn't believe what he was saying so I asked him how they packed them. He described a bag about a foot square, only slightly embellished I figured. So I gave him some cash and asked him to bring me back a bag. He only wanted 5 bucks so I didn't expect much!

On Jan 3 he came back to work and tossed me a box about a foot square. Sure enough, aggies in a big bag with all the cool blue, grey, green and brown colors, in three sizes. Probably made from slag from the iron furnaces but cool just the same!

He also gifted me some Urquell pilsner. They claim it's the real product that Bush made in Germany. They called it the "Real Budweiser". If you can drink two of them without slurring your speech you're special!

Just thought I'd share! Best wishes, and good luck!

Tommy,

It's possible that marble fell out my head because that grass was driving me crazy. Tried to get into the woods where it looked like they had earthworks for artillery training and / or general infantry training but the vines were worst than the grass!!!:BangHead: When you were able to find a clear spot it was polluted with modern trash from Beavers Creek when it floods.

Heck, all I walked away with today other than modern trash from by the creek and lots of old Iron was a 1940 Jefferson nickel... Yep, can you believe it, I found the nickel this time... :laughing7:

Regarding your suggestion about one of us cutting the grass while the other detects, well to be honest, I was wondering why on the ride home Truth was asking how I mowed my yard and what I used... :icon_scratch: :laughing7:

Hopefully the farmer will cut or plow the fields, yes there's a second one with taller grass, this spring. He's already granted me permission to return whenever...

Truth,

As usual, I had a great time on today's adventure and I can't wait to get back when those fields get bush-hogged or plowed, because I'm sure the goods are there we just need to get our coils over the right spot!!!

So excited didn’t sleep a wink last night, after that grass wore me out so much I left my detector in your trunk. I might have to pick it up around noon. Just let me know where you’ll been.

Possum that was probably the oldest small cemetery I’ve been too.

I saw several confederate headstones and the majority of the headstones were from the early to late 1800's... "D"

Yeah, I'm on standby for court until around 1500 hrs, after that I can meet you or cross into St. Tammany and drop it off to you at ya house... "D"
