Don't think so. Looks like Mica to me.

Here in Montana you will see A LOT of mica in the stream beds here, they call it "fools" gold for a reason! Don't give up though!

Does this have gold? And maybe something else? Should I try to break it open?

Two suggestions..

Post the pics in the Hard Rock Mining section of the Prospecting Forums. There
you will get some experienced hard rock miners to look it over.

Crush it and then pan it out. By crush I mean pound it down to powder, then
carefully pan the material for gold.

No expert but I've been told on here a few times that gold would not have a rust ring around it. However, pyrite will leave a rusty residue.
