I just got a Minelab Exalaber II and would love to get some tips on using the settings on the beach, water and even if this machine works well on land still learning the machine have settings on auto and digging everything to learn the tones would love it if I could chat with people who have been using this machine ah while and where the best places to use this machine would be thanks folks Happy Hunting

First thing I would do is do some research on the beach's there, your setting on a gold mine...Once you pick out about three just go out and hunt. A good beach can make you a great hunter, a bad beach will be bad but can open up over night, so be ready for the unexpected. ...

Discrimination 1

Sensitivity start at 6 to 7

Volume full, this is the target volume

threshold just audible, this is a separate audio from the target volume

PP or Disc.. start in Discriminate and hunt a few weeks but PP is deeper by a few inch's so if there are no targets try PP

Dig everything that gives a tone in discriminate

Storms take off work, call in sick, do what ever you have to do to live on the beach...

Get a good can of Silicon spray like Mcnetts or 303, keep the cables well lubed .. every few days if used often, If the machine is going to set, lube it before...

Get yourself a strait shaft..

If your threshold goes silent while sweeping it is "nulling" over iron, re-sweep the target from a 90° different angle, if it still nulls move on, if you get a good tone dig it..

Swing your coil LOW and SLOW. Oh, and listen to OBN and Treasure Hunter, they are experts in the field...
