I think...If I read the identifying mark correctly as the Boo Chi mint as found on this site: http://www.calgarycoin.com/reference/china/china8.htm
The possible dates are 1419, 1467, 1478, 1501, and 1514.
I had actually detected this coin with my Tesoro Bandido II uMax about three or fouryears ago (in the same area I found my recent chinese coin), and had thought I lost it for good a long time ago. Today I was cleaning out a drawer and whala! There it was. I guess it pays to keep a clean office.
It also appears to have been a survivor of one of the many fires that ravaged such mining towns as the one I found it in.
