That's pretty cool!! If its a buck brothers you can send it in for a free replacement. I pulled one out of a customers tire when I worked for an auto shop years ago. The only thing left of it was the frame and what was left of the three blades, obviously misused. Sent it in and received a free replacement - no questions asked.

I got a better story--I went to Home Depot and they were taking down a display with some Volt-Ohm meters on it--one was a very nice Fluke unit that had been screwed to the wooden display with a dryway screw :BangHead: It appeared to only go through the battery compartment and I asked the manager if I could buy it at a discount. She just told the clerk to give it to me. When I got home I realized that the drywall screw not only went through the battery compartment, but straight through the MAIN chip on the circuit board in the unit! Again :BangHead: :BangHead: I sent it back to Fluke asking them if they could fix it for me, and they sent me back a brand new one free of charge a couple weeks later :notworthy: I'm sure they must have really wondered how it could have possibly sustained that type of damage :laughing7: Excellent customer service though!

Knives are fun to find! I once found a knife that I was able to clean it up and give to my son. He still uses it as his hunting knife. Congratulations on knife #1. H Digs!

I love those old uncle Henry's. they're like an old pair of Levi's, they never go out of style, they just fade away

Sweet find! Congrats and HH!

That's a dandy! Nice find!

I like finding old timers, they take the best edge and stay sharp the longest. I will have to look through my pile of knives to see if I have any buck knives. nice find and thanks for sharing I learned a lot.

About twenty years ago I was hunting an old home that a very elderly widow owned. She and her son owned 3 large farms in the area. The home where she was born was also a place she had given me permission to hunt. She saw me dig an old pocket knife in the front yard of her residence and told me that if I ever found one that appeared to have a red handle on it at the old home place it would mean a lot to her to have it. She described it as being shaped kind of like a coke bottle. Long story short, her husband had been given the knife as a present from his best friend when they were young. The friend died in an accident shortly after and he continued to carry the knife until he lost it in the yard of her old home place. She said it was amazing how he grieved over the loss and how foolish he had been to still carry it. Moving forward, when she told me the story I headed straight to my house and retrieved the knife from my junk box. I had dug it the previous week. She was so shocked when I handed it to her she had to set down. A great memory. I continued to visit with here until I moved from the area. She frequently helped me on getting permission, as well as being my go to person for knowledge on the history of the community (Lascassas TN).

Congrats on your knife. To the person that lost it worth several silvers at the time.
