Just don't know...

Hello all,
Found one of these at a park and one at an empty lot. The bulbous one is threaded and the smaller one is not. Decorative attachments? I know they are nothing big and worthy, guess I am just curious.
Thanks,
Bunker

After thinking about it, the larger threaded one may be a on off switch for a lamp. Found it near an old hotel.

Re: Just don't know...

The larger one might have been the piece that holds on the lamp shade...

Re: Just don't know...

Thanks ya'll, I know they aren't much but finding 2 similar looking pieces the same day miles apart had me wondering.

Re: Just don't know...

Given the size of the threaded one what you found is probably a brass knob commonly used to hold glass lampshades on lights. Check your light fixtures in your house and you will likely see something very similar.

Re: Just don't know...

The larger one might be a converter ball. I use a lot of older photographic equipment and have several. The screw onto a standard 1/4" tripod mount and make it so you can attach a clamp style light to it. Tripods make a great, inexpensive light stand. If you have a tripod, try it and see.

Re: Just don't know...

If found in a park, my guess is the protective caps off bike cables???
Looks like stranded wire in the one...
