Don't worry smart ass i will. I'm sorry I am new to this hobby and the little things still make a difference to me, and others who are getting into it as well.

Weight does make a big differnce on those long hunts. Good luck with your new machine.

thanks birdman, after about 4-5 hours with the detector i have now, my arm is ready to fall off...A pound of weight should make quit the difference!

my new detector will be a full POUND lighter than the one i am using now!! C'mon Wednesday!!!!

A pound will make a huge difference in how long you can detect and how fast you can swing the detector. I went from 2 different 5-6 lb. detectors to a 3lb. and also a 4.5 lb detector---thought they were feathers........ ;D ;D

Do you ever.

here a carpenter complain a bought his framing hammer be to heavy, or the logger with the chain saw with the four foot bar,how about a jack hammer operator. If you use the muscle keep it strong and in shape then the weight of the detector will not effect you un less your to old to dig a hole in the first place, then their no help for you.I've been known to go over six hour with my 5900 with maximum 1500 before i would even look at my watch.

p.s yes I am a smart ass.............liftloop

I have a personal limit of 3.5 lbs with batteries. Anything more than that becomes a drag for me. That's why I like Tesoro's so much. :icon_thumleft:

yeah i am looking forward to swing a lighter MD. I like to hunt for at least 3-4 hours if not more when i can, and i tend to get pretty sloppy on my swings when i get toward the end of a hunt, which may cost me a good find if it hasn't already...

I went from a nautilus to a cibola and never regreted it!
