JUST CURIOS

I found a 9 lb. cylinder of solid brass, looked like it came from a bulldozer or some piece of heavy equipment. It was about the size of a oil filter, but longer & wider. Gave off one heck of a signal!

Looked like a journal out of an old stamp mill and was found way down the mountain from the mine in a dry wash, maybe 50 to 75 lbs...........63bkpkr

Oh, and I left it there!

Someone asked that in another post, like I said there's someone who found a WW2 tank while detecting. The thread is somewhere in the treasure in the news forum.

couple hundred pound chunk of copper conglomerate, was down about four feet. found with my garret box loop...it payed the water bill.

My biggest find was never dug up. Just too big a signal. Was "L" shaped and measured over 12 feet one way and 14ft the other. Probably a big pipe so not worth digging up. I went down a little over a foot and hit rusty dirt and then quit.

Strangest, yes, yes. I was working the beach of Indian River Inlet in DE after a big storm. I was using my XLT and got a big signal. It was about 1' in dia. I dug down About 2' and found a Navy style anchor and recovered it. I double checked the hole and got another signal. Let me say here that the rope on the anchor went into the hole. I dug down a little more and found the signal. It was the bow eye on the boat. I just cut the rope and filled the hole. Frank

A 40 inch coil of old, rusty barbed wire. It was about ten inches down. There had to be a hundred feet of wire there.
