After much reading and talking to salesmen I came home with a White Prizm III. To me, anyway it was the easiest to use. Affordable for first time with enough capabilities to keep me happy for quite some time. Plus it's made right next door in Oregon. ;D Just getting ready to head out on a 4 day camping trip. Looking forward to finding many bottle caps and pull tabs. 8)

Grats on your new detector :)
If you've never owned one , starting out can be a bit overwhelming
at first but just remember , it's like the first time you drove a car , everything seemed difficult with so much to remember but after a few hundred miles you were rollin' down the road without even thinkin about it :)
Good hunting and keep us posted ;)

Very good choice. It will serve you well and you can find many many bottle caps and pull tabs at a campground. I have left quite a few of them at campgrounds myself myself. Now I have to go back and find them. :-\

WELCOME to the hobby silvertip.Ya made a good first machine choice there bud.My wife Janet started out with the White's Prizm and she did great with it.I was very suprised at her finds with it. Yer Prizm III should do even better. If i may too a small piece of advice. Pay attention to the differences in your signals and DIG EVERYTHING !!! This will help ya git to know yer machine. Most important.HAVE FUN !!!!
Now git out there and post pics o' that "newbie" find of a mason jar cashe o' gold coinage.

Congrats on the new detector.

You'll like that maching, it's a good one.

I agree, dig everything.

If for no other reason just to learn what it's telling you. It may get frustrating but you'll be glad you did it later.

Welcome and congrats on your first detector, good choice. As the others said, it will take some getting used to, remember the tones and signals, and dig everything. I look forward to your future postings. Enjoy your camping trip and it would be best to start looking around the beach or water at the campground where more people gather.
