I regularly check out Craigslist for lost items within a 20 mile radius of home. On the evening of July 4th I saw a lost wedding ring ad .. and only a couple miles away.
I responded with my usual volunteering to look for the ring. I got an immediate response from Noelle and was told the loss area very accurately by Derek (always a plus!). Tenth anniversary coming up and the silver wedding ring made from local Scotland silver and difficult to replace.
I love having an excuse to get out early and detect ... and a bonus of close to home! First target, bottle cap ... second target, nail ... third target, SILVER RING! It took me all of 3 minutes. Phone call to Derek ... he's coming down in 10 minutes!
Derek and his wife both arrived and I showed them where I found the ring first. Then the ring. What a beautiful, fantastic response from them both. I got huge hugs (gotta LOVE those hugs!) and they both teared up! I started getting misty eyed in sympathy too.
Noelle graciously took photos which came out great. And I think both Noelle and Derek understand why I love to find and reunite owners with their lost items.
