Found detecting on the beach in an area 1800's items are being found.

I'm a licensed Optician and never saw anything like that before but you're right the shape is close but I don't think we will ever know.

He's saying that if your scale is in metric it looks (shaped like) like a nose pad. I see in the pictures that the rule/tape measure is upsides down depicting the metric scale above the standard scale, the standard scale is devided in 1/32" (inch) increments.
