I got off work this morning and decided to go dig. The lot I’ve been digging is a little wet and loaded with iron. I believe I’ve gotten most of the relics out that I can with my metal detector so I decided to take the shovel instead. I dug down about 18 inches to the level of the change in the soil color and at and below the iron level. The hole I dug was about 3 by 3 foot. The soil is so wet it comes out in clumps so I used my pin pointer today to check the soil. My favorite find today was the gold plated Scovill Waterbury gold plated flower button. I do love buttons. My next two favorite were the lead balls that were hammered into game pieces. One of the pieces has incised lines on its surface. Hope y’all had a great weekend! Thanks for looking and happy hunting!
