Just 3 wheats, but one you don't often see; picture added for Bob!

Between ballfield maintenance and child pickup, I had a brief window of detecting opportunity open this morning. I headed over to the silver farm, where there is always another coin or two to be found. I managed three wheats: 18, 32 and 44. Anyone who has found lots of wheats has found many 18's and 44's, but the 32's are very scarce. Years back, coin roll hunting, I (I better say "we" because one brother reads this and he was involved ;D) found over 8500 wheats and only one was a 1932. In updating the silver farm totals, I see that 442 wheats have been dug there since last May; my goal is to find eight more. I'm finding wheats now that hid from me last season. I'm not going to put up a picture because it won't show any detail anyway (I changed my mind). I hope my comrades on this site find a more precious metal than I did today!

I'm noticing that this season, too. I've gotten 17 silver(I think), and it's all come from areas that I hit pretty hard last year. I think it's just that the ground freezing has moved some of the coins, and now the signals are alot more positive.

Glad you got out, What's you're goal for Silver there this year? 32 is difficult to find, Good Score...HH

My goal for silver is one more! I've cleaned it out pretty good, but there is always potential to find something that was overlooked in the past. My XLT is way more sensitive to silver than it is to copper.

Henry,
You could still humor us with a picture. Just to prove you really did find it. ;D :D

I don't think I have found a 1932 Wheat penny. Plenty of 35's.

Your goal of 500 is good.

Henry,
Ok, I'll buy it now - it looks authentic. :)

That is a good picture. Your skills are improving. :)

The '32 is a good year. Too bad it wasn't a 1931. The 1931 is a semi-key date.

You're thinking 31D or S; I've found several 31 Phillys. I was prompted to do a little more research and realized that no nickels, dimes, halves or dollars were minted in 32, just wheats and the new Washington quarter. What a dark time that must have been.

now you went and done it. I'll be looking for the '32s everytime I pull a wheat from the groun. Thanx for the headsup. I have seen a couple of '18s come out already, so it won't be a shock.
