It's too hot here right now! Nice stuff. Must be 1,000 degrees down there now.

We’ve been getting rained on but I did manage to get an early hunt. This is from a 1700s and 1800s fort from New Orleans. I found a stirrup

A piece of silver ( tested )and a Brass mechanism

Two pieces of iron they were in the same holeIMG_0054.jpg

What looks to be part of a pipe and a toy bowlIMG_0058.jpg

I do appreciate you looking and I’d love to hear some comments on what those iron pieces might be.

gear from a clock , some type of key ? maybe a steam boiler bleeder key. looks like a butt plate but no way to tell the size in your pic. looks like good stuff to me . If large brass is still there it hasn't been hit too hard . no telling whats in the ground .keep digging.

Mortar and pestle maybe?

The pipe bowl is an old electrical insulator

I like the found relics, congrats! :icon_thumleft:

I think all the iron is 20th century, perhaps off a tractor.

wheat finder taught me something today , here's more on the subject.

Knob-and-tube wiring (sometimes abbreviated K&T) is an early standardized method of electrical wiring in buildings, in common use in North America from about 1880 to the 1930s.[SUP][1][/SUP][SUP][2][/SUP] It consisted of single-insulated copper conductors run within wall or ceiling cavities, passing through joist and stud drill-holes via protective porcelain insulating tubes

thank you so it’s not a 3000-year-old Indian pipe? Lol

Yeah they get me every time I see one of them lol. At least they let your know you’re at an older site

That's a cool latch!

What size are the iron pieces. The one on the right doesn't look like iron to me. Please post a side view of it.

Hi Truth , Winter and bit chilly here , Latch will be handy for the next time one of the door falls off the ole Ford Beast . TP

Nice old relics. Should be some coins there somewhere.
