I went to a junkhole I recently hit last summer. Last time I visited the hole I came out with 2 gold wedding bands and about 35 marbles! Today wasn't that good but I did find a few. When I first got there I seen a wheatie laying right on top of the ground. a 1947 S. thanks for looking! The button I am holding up appears to be pearl. thought it was neat.

Oh man I love those Marbles Cool Finds and never know about those Junk Holes
WTG :hello2: :hello2: :hello2:

The one at 7 o'clock is a Ravenswood Novelty Company marble

Whenever I dig up one of those I get an emotional stiffy. I have excavated two hundred of them which I covet intensely.

Nice marble find, what you call a button looks to me like a chinese gaming piece [like a drop of glass]I think that because I dont see any holes in it. Anyways I find them in alot of old sites I dig in,the game is called [I think] mandella? OR mancallathe white ones can look pearly and cobalt blue is the other color....cheers from K.KID

cool finds
ive found an old dumpsite where a shirt factory discarded their clam shells after cutting the button blanks from them( a cubic acre of them )
you may have a mother of pearl button blank
i have a dozen or so of them in various stages of completion

happy hunting
