Hey hey diggers!
Looks like 2020 detecting has come to a close so it's getting time to sort through the ole junkbox to see what I missed along the way .
I came across this piece of an old watch fob. Kind of thing I dont find very often so I'll hang on to this one.
The JE Porter Co has a rich history and is widely known.

Pretty neat. Do you suppose that was awarded to an employee for "x" number of years of employment? Cool save. So according to this, that fob would be from between 1892 - 1976? Am I guessing that correctly?

[h=3]COMPANY NAMES[/h] J. E. Porter's Eagle Agricultural Works (1868-1876)
J. E. Porter & Company (1876-1892)
J. E. Porter Company (1892-1976)

I'm guessing it was just a promotional piece...free advertising with the purchase of a hay conveyor lol
Based on the company name it was post 1892, and at the older end of things closer to that date.

Very cool watch fob... :icon_thumright:

Nice job on that Fob. I live about 40 miles East of Ottawa, Illinois.

Now that is a pretty cool find! Thanks for posting it and sharing with us.
